1.0 OVERVIEW

1.1 STUDY BACKGROUND

Every family in today’s culture wants to be together, yet most of them are dealing with a high rate of broken homes. The main goal of this study project is to look at how the prevalence of broken households in our society today is affecting children’s conduct. There are various elements that contribute to this.

Consider a family from a low socioeconomic background where the father, who is the only provider for the family, splits up with his wife, who lacks the resources to care for their children. The children are put under pressure because, as the saying goes, everything has a limit. Because they lack sufficient parental guidance from both parents, the children’s constant pressure might have a detrimental impact on them as well. The kids are impacted on a moral and emotional level.

The passing of one of the parents should also be taken into consideration, especially if the mother is the only survivor. Mothers are typically regarded as being responsible for taking care of the children, but they can also provide some financial support.

The kids started learning how to live independently; some of them encounter the wrong people and end up becoming cultists, robbers, etc. These are all community social vices.

Such youngsters can eventually be recognised by their behavior, social interactions, and relationships with other members of the community. Because the initial schooling begins at home, parents have a significant influence on the social behaviour of children. What others observe in parents’ efforts to raise their children outside of their various houses is a mirror of what parents do.

In our society today, the problem of broken homes is on the rise. Causes of this problem include parental death, unintended pregnancy, and poor social backgrounds of the family. The society is working to find solutions to this problem among its citizens. The majority of parents fail in their responsibility to raise their children in a way that will benefit society; the absence of parental guardians has a significant impact on how children behave in today’s society.

1.3 QUESTION FOR RESEARCH

Some questions were posed to help with the completion of the research work due to the enduring difficulties in society regarding the effects of broken homes on children’s behaviour. The research queries are listed below:

1. What causes house invasions and break-ins?

2. How are the home, kids, and society impacted by the issues or crises in marriage?

3. Does a child’s academic achievement suffer significantly from a fractured home?

4. What variables influence children’s behaviour?

5. Does a child’s behaviour have any appreciable impact on society?

Research hypothesis (1.4)

H0: Children’s behaviour is unaffected by broken homes in a substantial way.

H1: Children’s behaviour is unaffected by broken homes in a substantial way.

H0: Parental influence on children’s behaviour has no discernible impact.

H1: Parental supervision significantly affects children’s behaviour

1.5 STUDY’S AIM AND OBJECTIVES

The research’s objectives are to:

First, identify the causes of property damage.

2. Ascertain how marriage-related issues or crises impact the home, the kids, and society.

3. Identify the parental responsibilities in raising a child.

4. Determine whether a child’s academic performance is significantly impacted by a broken home.

5. Identify the elements influencing kids’ behaviour.

1.6 IMPORTANCE OF THE STUDY

The study is crucial because it will look at how parenting styles affect children’s behaviour and how to raise them the right way. Finally, the study will look at the influences on children’s behaviour in contemporary culture.

1.7 AIM OF THE STUDY

The study will look at the notions of behaviour and the things that influence it, as well as how broken homes affect children’s behaviour.

1.8 STUDY LIMITATIONS

FINANCIAL CONSTRAINTS: Due to a lack of funding, the researcher was only able to cover the basics of the research issue while still gathering adequate data for the study.

TIME CONSTRAINTS: The researcher, a student, was able to complete the study job within the allotted time despite being active in other departmental activities including seminar presentations and other assignments.

1.10 DEFINITION OF TERMS

A man and a woman who are legally wed are referred to as a couple.

Marriage is the union of a man and a woman in a specific, close, and intimate relationship.

HOME: A person’s or family’s “home” is where they now reside.

According to Black Bay (1999), a house is a place where a person or a family can rest and keep their own wealth.

kid ABUSE: According to Wikipedia, a kid’s physical, sexual, emotional, or psychological maltreatment or neglect is referred to as child abuse.

A pregnancy that was unintended or unwanted at the time of conception is referred to as an unwanted pregnancy.

POVERTY: According to Business Dictionary, poverty is a state in which a person’s basic requirements, including those for food, clothing, and shelter, are not being met.

TRADITION: A belief or action that is carried down within a group or community and has unique significance or a logical reason.

DIVORCE: This is the formal dissolution of a marriage or the legal separation of a husband and wife due to marital dispute.
