STOCK MANAGEMENT SYSTEM COMPLETE PROJECT

Chapter one

1.0. Introduction.

The modern industrial world is technologically advanced, and there is fierce global competition. A computer user is presented with two sources of information: HARDWARE and SOFTWARE. Much of the software will be programmes that allow for the quick and automatic management of computer system resources.

1.1. Background of the Study

The term “Stock Management System” refers to nearly any stock-related solution. This software package gives direction for all stock management purposes; as a result, the current demand for such software has become necessary.

This project will provide for the computerization of a small firm whose primary purpose is to maintain track of their inventory and stock process and to transition from paper-based transactions to computerised transactions.

To optimise stock management procedures, you must have robust capability for controlling your logistics facilities. Support for stock management allows you to register and track commodities based on both amount and value.

Stock management functions include internal warehouse transportation and storage.

Using this programme, we can save money on warehousing, transportation, order fulfilment, and material handling while increasing customer service.

You may considerably increase inventory rotations, optimise the flow of goods, and shorten paths within your warehouse or distribution centre. Stock management also improves cash flow, visibility, and decision-making.

This software is user-friendly and therefore simple to use.

Employees can plan, enter, and document warehouse and internal stock movements, such as products issues, storage, picking and packing, physical stock transfers, and transfer postings.

1.2. Statement of the Problem

Manual systems are time-consuming, inefficient, and inaccurate when compared to computerised systems.

So, here are some problems of the old system:

1. Slow data processing.

2. A lot of paperwork.

3. Time-consuming.

4. Less accurate.

5. Less efficient.

6. A lot of paperwork.

7. Slow data processing.

8. Not user-friendly environment.

9. It’s difficult to retain ancient records.

1.3. Aims of the Study

The objectives of the study include the following:

1. Design a computer-driven stock management system.

2. To ensure a good and accurate record.

3. Enhance staff effectiveness.

4. Generate a report on all goods in stock.

5. Keep track of items in terms of quantity.

1.4. Study Objectives

The effort is intended to help with stock control. The primary goal of the new system includes:

1. Create a computer-driven stock management system that records and tracks commodities based on both amount and value.

2. Generate reports on all activities.

3. Design and develop a central database system to function as a database, containing information about the entire stock.

1.5. Significance of the Study

The new system built for a computerised payroll system will, among other things:

1. Financial records related to a single component or group of components. The stock management system maintains service records for all components.

2. Up-to-date information about data processing resources obtained by creating and archiving records in a central repository.

3. Data used to support configuration diagrams of hardware and software components located in specific locations or across the full data processing environment.

1.6. SCOPE OF THE STUDY.

The goal of this system is to provide an efficient working environment for users, which will result in higher production. This system has a user-friendly interface, which allows you to understand all of the system’s usability characteristics.

This system aids in record tracking, allowing previous records to be validated and decisions to be made based on them. This system completes the work in a relatively short amount of time, resulting in lower time consumption and a higher level of efficiency.
